RBI Recruitment 2018 and Career Path


 RBI hierarchy is divided in six groups.

Note: – There is no Class-II level in RBI Recruitment. RBI has only Class-I,III and IV employees.

RBI Assistant A candidate may join RBI as an Assistant. After serving for three years he would be eligible to appear in written examination for grade A officers.

RBI Recruitment Procedure 2018


RBI gives advertisement in leading newspapers and Employment News/ Rojgar Samachar. Candidates need to apply online as per the format published in the recruitment advertisements along with all your relevant documents.

The Board follows two different procedures for selection.

  1. RBI Group B Recruitment-

a) Phase I – Objective Type written Test with 4 modules

  • General Awareness,
  • English Language,
  • Quantitative Aptitude and

b) Phase II – Objective Type –

  • Paper I English
  • Paper II Economic & Social Issues
  • Paper III Optional Paper (Finance & Management/Economics/Statistics)

c) Interview

Phase I is qualifying examination for getting selected for phase II, Marks of phase I is not included in l merit of final selection list.

  1. Recruitment for Special posts:

Recruitment for few special posts such as, Assistant Manager (Security), Manager (Technical), Librarian, etc. is done by interview only.

Eligibility Criteria for RBI Group B Recruitment Exam 2018


Educational Qualification 10+12+Graduation=60% for general category.

For SC/ST/PWD it is 50%

Age Criteria Min. 21 and Max 30 Years.

Relaxation for experienced candidates.

Note: – Should be carefully checked once RBI recruitment is announced.


Total Attempts in RBI Group B Recruitment:

A general category candidate gets total six attempts to qualify this exam.

RBI Offer of Appointment and Appointment Letter

RBI first issues an Offer of Appointment which states few terms and conditions. To complete them you need to complete few formalities. Such as

Medical test,

Referee Report,

Police Verification Report, and

Employer’s Report.

After completing formalities mentioned in first letter you would get final Appointment Letter.
